I bought these "used" from Amazon, in like new condition with the original box and all tags on them, including the sticker on the sole. So they are new as new can be for a fraction of the price. I have been eyeballing these for a couple of years, but I did not love them enough to pay full price. So my review is based on the price I paid. I bought a size 8, and have a size 7.5-8 US B women's foot, depending on the type and manufacturer of the shoes in question. My feet are not wide, per se, but I do have athletic feet, meaning they are sturdy and not petite. My left foot is 1/2 size larger than my right, so sometimes shoes can be difficult to size for me. I'd say these are a pretty true size 8, since my larger foot is not cramped and my smaller foot is not swimming in a way that makes these shoes unable to wear.My largest concern with buying them was the fact that I broke my leg badly 4 years ago and had to have 4 surgeries total on that leg within 2 years, all of which had my ankle being cut into. To say I have scare tissue around my ankle is an understatement, including nails and screws which are still in it. I have not bought nor worn strappy shoes since that time. But the buckles/straps on these shoes appeared to be lower than my scars, so I thought they might work. After wearing them around the house for about 20 minutes I was surprised there was zero pain. YAY! The only thing that seems odd is that the footbed is so fluffy/cushion-like, my heel sits high in the heel cuff and it feels like the backs of my shoes are going to pop off my heels, feeling oddly too low. Perhaps with some wear, that padded footbed will mold to my heel and allow my heel to sink in deeper which would remedy the problem. I have very high arches, so to me, these have zero arch support, but neither does any other pump I have ever worn, so I don't hold that against these shoes. My only wish is that the footbed was 100% leather. With an all leather insole in a shoe, you can wear them without socks in the summer and never ever get stinky feet or shoes. If the issue with my heel sitting too high in the heelcuff of the shoe does not remedy itself, I may take these to a cobbler and ask them to remove the original footbed and just put leather in it. But for less than $40, these shoes are steal, because you can barely get plastic shoes for this price.I am happy overall with my purchase, and will update my review if I make major changes to the shoes using a cobbler or if some other issue comes up. I do updates all the time, so if there is none, my review stands, as is.
